Our Story

David Pladen was founded in 2020 from a simple frustration.

We loved watches.

Not because they tell the time — our phones already do that — but because of what a watch can represent. Style. Character. Ambition. A memory of a certain period in your life.

But when we started looking for watches we actually wanted to wear, we kept running into the same choice.

On one side were traditional luxury watches: beautiful, iconic and built with incredible craftsmanship, but often priced far beyond what most people could justify.

On the other side were affordable fashion watches that looked good from a distance, but often lacked the character, quality and attention to detail that makes a watch feel special.

We felt there should be something in between.

And that became the starting point for David Pladen.

Why David Pladen Exists

We wanted to build a watch brand for people who care about how they present themselves, but don’t need a logo to prove their worth.

A watch that feels considered. A watch you notice when you put it on. Something with its own identity, rather than another copy of what already exists.

From the beginning, David Pladen was built around one question: What makes a watch worth wearing?

For us, the answer was never just the movement, the materials or the specifications. It is the complete feeling.

  • The weight on your wrist.
  • The shape of the case.
  • The texture of the dial.
  • The way light reflects from the metal.
  • The strap you choose.
  • And most importantly, how the watch becomes part of your own story.

That philosophy still guides every David Pladen design today.

Founded in 2020

2020 was a year in which the world slowed down. For us, it became a moment to think differently about time.

We realised how easily days, months and years can pass without us really noticing them. And that gave the idea behind David Pladen a deeper meaning.

Time is one of the few things we can never get back.

So instead of creating watches that simply measure it, we wanted to create watches that remind you to make something of it.

David Pladen became a brand about progress.

  • About building something.
  • Taking chances.
  • Travelling.
  • Creating memories.
  • Celebrating milestones.
  • And continuing to move forward.

Our Design Philosophy

We don’t design watches around temporary trends.

We look for the balance between classic watchmaking influences and modern design.

  • Strong proportions.
  • Distinctive dials.
  • Refined materials.
  • Recognisable details.
  • And enough personality to make the watch feel unmistakably David Pladen.

We believe luxury should be felt in the details rather than shouted through oversized logos or unnecessary excess.

That is why our designs are made to attract attention without asking for it.

Whether you’re wearing one with a linen shirt somewhere along the Mediterranean, with a suit at an important meeting, or simply during an ordinary day that might later become a memory.

More Than a Watch

The longer you own a watch, the less it becomes about the watch itself.

You remember where you wore it.

  • The first trip.
  • The new job.
  • The dinner.
  • The celebration.
  • The person sitting across from you.

Eventually, small scratches and signs of wear become part of its character.

That is what fascinates us about watches. They move through life with you. And that is ultimately why we started David Pladen.

Not to create another object that gets replaced when something newer arrives. But to create watches people want to keep. Watches connected to moments, places and achievements.

Because a David Pladen watch doesn’t just tell you what time it is.

It reminds you what you did with it.
